Heidi’s Campground Presents Its First Helping Hands Award

At Heidi’s Campground, we believe that some of the most meaningful moments happen when people look out for one another. Recently, three young members of our campground family demonstrated exactly what courage, compassion, and friendship look like when their friend needed them most.
We are incredibly proud to recognize George, Samantha, and Charlie as the very first recipients of the Helping Hands Award.

When It Mattered Most

While out playing with their friend Scott, the three were suddenly faced with a frightening and unexpected situation. Scott suffered a serious stroke, and everything changed in an instant.
What happened next is something we will not soon forget.
Rather than becoming overwhelmed by the situation, George, Samantha, and Charlie stepped up. Through their quick thinking and willingness to help, they were able to get Scott the emergency medical attention he needed as quickly as possible.
For three young people to respond with such courage and compassion during a frightening situation is truly remarkable. They recognized that their friend needed help, and they did what they could to make sure he received it.
Their actions are a powerful reminder that sometimes the smallest acts of courage can make the biggest difference.

The Helping Hands Award

The Helping Hands Award was created to recognize those who demonstrate kindness, compassion, courage, and a willingness to help others when it matters most.
George, Samantha, and Charlie were the perfect first recipients.
We presented each of them with the Helping Hands Award as a small way of saying thank you and recognizing what they did for Scott. While an award can never fully express how proud we are of them, we hope they understand how much their actions mean to their friends, their families, and everyone at Heidi’s Campground.
These three should be incredibly proud of themselves.
Their story isn't simply about responding to an emergency. It is about friendship. It is about caring enough to step forward when someone needs you. And it is about having the courage to help, even when you may be scared or unsure of what to do.
We encourage everyone who knows George, Samantha, and Charlie to take a moment to congratulate them and give them the recognition they deserve.

Continuing to Support Scott

While we celebrate these three young heroes, our thoughts remain with Scott and his family as he continues his recovery.
A serious stroke can change everything in an instant, and recovery can be a long and difficult journey. Scott's family continues to face the many challenges that come with his recovery, and the support of friends, family, and the community can make a tremendous difference.
A GoFundMe has been established to help support Scott and his family during this difficult time.
If you are able, please consider making a donation. If donating isn't possible, sharing the fundraiser with others is another meaningful way to help. Every share, every kind word, and every bit of support can help remind Scott and his family that they are not facing this journey alone.
